Ca'n Reus can be found in the prettiest village on the island, Fornalutx, surrounded by lemon and orange trees and olive groves. This rural hotel offers spectacular views over the Tramuntana mountain range, comfort and warm hospitality. It is an ideal venue for walkers, for those who want to explore the island and for those who simply want to relax by the pool in the hotel garden.

Ca'n Reus Hotel -  About Nick and Sue Guthrie

If owners, Sue and Nick Guthrie, look at times distracted, they could be forgiven. They are both holding down two jobs.

Every Friday, Nick flies back to London where he produces and edits his weekly current affairs programme for the BBC, “Dateline London”. He is back at his post at Ca'n Reus by Sunday.

During the hotel's low seasons, Sue works as an investigative reporter for BBC TV News, as Sue Lloyd-Roberts. Since taking over Ca'n Reus, she has taken time out to make films in Romania, India, Nepal, Burma and Zimbabwe, among others. But both are longing for the day when they can give up their BBC jobs and devote themselves 100% to Ca'n Reus.

They love the hotel, the village and the island. But, there are some compensations to this schizophrenic existence. At their weekly dinners, you will find yourselves as likely to be talking about traditional Mallorquin cooking as the prospects of the latest round of Middle East peace talks and the future of Zimbabwe!
